Tia is a venture-backed women’s health-tech startup for millennial women by millennial women. Our mission is to help women make independent and informed decisions for their own bodies, health and lives with confidence. Through technology, design, and a whole lot of sass, we’re reimagining women’s healthcare from the ground up. Today, Tia is a part-machine, part-human-powered assistant you privately message with about birth control and sexual health. Overtime, our aim is to establish Tia as the trusted women’s health brand and marketplace — the starting place for millennial women’s healthcare online.


The Role

We are looking for a highly-motivated jack-of-all-trades writer, strategist and UX thinker to join Tia’s founding team. Your foremost responsibility is to develop best-in-class women’s health content for the Tia platform at scale, while maintaining Tia’s unique brand, voice and tone. The means perfecting the delicate balance of medically-valid knowledge to sass, and finding ways to operationalize our content machine. As the sole content strategist, you will touch every touchpoint of the product, brand and company — from tool-tips and push notification copy, to #TiaTalkTuesdays, to emails and social posts. Success in this role will require an understanding of design thinking and user experience, and the ability to both produce content, and design a system that can deliver a singular “Tia” brand experience at scale.


What you’ll do:

  • Work directly with the CEO to productize Tia’s brand, voice and tone.

  • “Ghost-write” the Tia bot — creating every greeting, sign-off, answer and notification the users receives from Tia

  • Design and manage a process for developing content at scale — collaborating with our  health educators, product teams, and medical advisory board.

  • Build and manage the content roadmap — identifying new opportunities to make Tia smarter and ensuring content stays accurate and fresh

  • Develop marketing and social media content as extensions of the brand and product.


You must be:

  • A superb, snappy writer

  • A master simplifier — a pro at distilling the most complicated of concepts into simple language for the layperson (without dumbing things down).

  • Data-driven — you know when and how to look to data to validate your content, but lead with your creativity and intuition

  • Process-oriented — you don’t just create content, but have experience designing content systems that can scale

  • Detail obsessed — the extra space or incorrect use of a comma drives you mad

  • A pro at navigating ambiguity and wearing multiple hats

  • Passionate about women’s health and increasing access to health information


You’ll stand out from the crowd if:

  • You have experience with character development

  • You love research and nerd out in academic journals

  • You have some subject matter expertise in women’s health

  • You have experience writing for technology products and working within UX and product frameworks

  • You are a pop-culture connoisseur — always in-the-know on the latest meme, slang, and celeb gossip
